Formula
To round a number 'N' to 'P' decimal places:
1. Identify the digit in the (P+1)th decimal place. 2. If this digit is 5 or greater, add 1 to the Pth decimal place digit and drop all subsequent digits. 3. If this digit is 4 or less, keep the Pth decimal place digit as it is and drop all subsequent digits. To round a number 'N' to the nearest whole number:
1. Identify the digit in the first decimal place. 2. If this digit is 5 or greater, add 1 to the units digit and drop all decimal digits. 3. If this digit is 4 or less, keep the units digit as it is and drop all decimal digits. To round a number 'N' to the nearest ten (or hundred, etc.):
1. For nearest ten, identify the units digit. For nearest hundred, identify the tens digit. 2. If the identified digit is 5 or greater, round up the digit in the target place (tens, hundreds) and replace all digits to its right with zeros. 3. If the identified digit is 4 or less, keep the digit in the target place as it is and replace all digits to its right with zeros.
Example

Imagine you have the number 347.82 and you want to round it to the nearest ten. First, identify the digit in the units place, which is 7. Since 7 is 5 or greater, you round up the tens digit (4) to 5. Then, replace the units digit with a zero. So, 347.82 rounded to the nearest ten becomes 350.
