Enter your bill amount, choose a typical tip percentage (for example 15%, 18%, or 20%), and optionally how many people are paying. The tool shows the tip in the same currency as your bill, the full total including gratuity, and each person’s share when you split evenly.
Pre-tax or total you want the percentage applied to (your currency).
e.g. 15, 18, or 20
Whole number; use 1 if paying alone.

Tip = bill × (tipPercent ÷ 100) Total = bill + tip Per person = total ÷ partySize
Bill £48.60 with 18% tip: tip = 48.60 × 0.18 = £8.75 (rounded to pence), total = £57.35. For 3 people splitting evenly, about £19.12 each. The same numbers apply in dollars for a $48.60 bill.
Multiply the bill by the tip percentage expressed as a decimal. For example, 18% means multiply by 0.18. This tool does that multiplication and rounds to two decimal places for currency-style totals.
People use different conventions. Enter whichever bill total you want the percentage applied to—if you tip on the pre-tax subtotal, type that amount; if you prefer the after-tax figure, type that instead.
Yes. Enter the number of people sharing; the calculator divides the bill-plus-tip total evenly. It does not model separate items or uneven shares.
No currency conversion or tax rules are applied. Amounts stay in whichever currency you typed, for educational arithmetic only.
